Pawnee A. Davis

Pawnee A. Davis is a tenacious advocate for her clients, naturally analytic, and a problem solver. While being empathetic and compassionate with clients, she fights hard toward her client’s goals, and for what is right.

With 15 years as a practicing attorney, Ms. Davis provides expertise for clients in moderate to high-net-worth contested divorces, high-conflict divorces, uncontested divorces, contempt and modification matters, child custody, visitation, child support, jurisdictional (UCCJEA) issues, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. For some time, she also handled civil domestic violence matters, and never lost a domestic violence trial.

The key to some of Ms. Davis’s success is the 10 years of previous investigative, evaluation, and financial and non-financial audit experience at the nation’s leading professional services agency, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). Ms. Davis served as a senior-level analyst for the U.S. GAO. For a decade, she helped the agency provide fact-based, non-partisan information, analysis, and recommendations, on federal and federally funded programs, to Congress and the public.

Though a native Northern California, Ms. Davis’s advanced degrees are from the East and Mid-Atlantic regions. She is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh School of Law and served as an Editor for 2 years on the law school’s Journal of Technology, Law, and Policy at University of Pittsburgh. While there she earned the CALI Excellence For the Future Award for her excellent legal research, analysis and writing skills. Ms. Davis also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration that she earned summa cum laude and with Distinction.

Ms. Davis is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), MSBA Family Law Section, Maryland Association for Justice, National Black Attorneys, J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, Association of  Women Attorneys, and the Native American Bar Association of Washington, DC. A few of the awards Ms. Davis has received include 47 Best Washington, DC Attorneys; Top 100 National Black Attorneys; Top Rated Lawyers in Maryland; Lawyers of Distinction; and Super Lawyers, Rising Star.
